Christian women meet

The September gathering of Village Missions Country Partners met at Pellegrino’s Italian Market, September 14 at noon. Nancy Schuyler, chair, explained the purpose of Village Missions, which is to serve rural churches, assign pastors to churches in danger of closing and pass out Bibles to children and adults who do not know Jesus. Rev. Dr. Doug Pennhollow talked about his ministry and lamented how he especially is concerned about depression and suicide in the general population. He began a program called Recovery Outreach as he knows that drugs and alcohol can take over the child or adult that once existed. He stressed he is building the Kingdom, not the church. The next luncheon will be held at noon, Tuesday, Oct.12 at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St. Susan Toombs, fitness, nutrition, and healthy living instructor will speak her message, “Heal the Body, Heal the Soul.” Reservations and capacity are limited, and masks are required in the ACC. Make reservations to Judy Crothers at (814) 723-7613 or Nancy Schuyler at (716) 720-4410 by Sept. 30.
