Saturday crash claims life of Warren man

A Warren man was killed as a result of a one-vehicle crash on Saturday in Glade Township.

Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police say in a public information report that Adam C. English, 35, Warren, was operating a silver 2011 Ford Taurus on Scandia Rd. “at a high rate of speed” shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Scandia Rd. south of Hatch Run Rd.

Police say English lost control of the vehicle over the crest of a hill traveling southbound. Tire marks, Troopers said, show that the vehicle crossed the double yellow lines into the opposite lane of traffic before sliding back into the southbound lane of travel.

The “vehicle went airborne, struck a mailbox and struck a tree,” the report states, before coming to rest. Police say neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers say Adam English was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger, Stevie L. English, 28, Warren, was transported via helicopter to UPMC Hamot.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by EmergyCare, City of Warren ambulance and fire, Glade VFD, State MedEvac, City of Warren police, Coroner Melissa Zydonik, state police out of Corry and Koebley’s Towing.
