Not any student planning to study business management or a related field is eligible for the Thomas Huber Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship fund was established in 2002 in memory of Tom Huber, who passed away at a young age.

That fund has grown and the first scholarship was awarded last week.

Allison Schmader, who will major in business management at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in the fall, is the inaugural recipient.

The other requirement of the scholarship is that recipients have experienced a life-limiting illness in their family.
