More than half of county adults have received first shots

More than half of Warren County adults are at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19.

Warren County ended May and entered June on a positive note in terms of the pandemic. For the past five days, the report from the Pennsylvania Department of Health has added only three new cases of COVID-19 to the county’s total.

There was one new case reported on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday, with no cases reported on Sunday nor Tuesday.

There have been 2,623 cases in the county, with 2,015 confirmed and 608 probables.

There were 120 new cases in May (about 3.9 per day) — about half as many as were reported in April (223). There were 119 new cases in March and 139 in February.

As of Wednesday’s report, there was only one COVID-positive patient at Warren General Hospital. Four of the 103 COVID-related deaths in the county were reported in April and May.

County residents continue to receive vaccines, though the rate is slowing.

According to the Department of Health, 4,195 people had received first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and 11,744 were fully covered.

Of the estimated 31,627 adults in the county, 37 percent are fully vaccinated and just over 50 percent have received at least one dose.
