The PennDOT Driver License Center in Warren will reopen in June.
"The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today that, due to the most recent guidance from the Center for Disease Control and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, beginning Tuesday, June 1, additional driver license centers throughout the western part of the state will reopen for driver licensing and photo services," according to a Monday PennDOT release.
In March 2020, PennDOT shut down all 75 Driver License Centers and all 27 Photo License Centers in accordance with Gov. Tom Wolf's mitigation guidance.
"This decision was made as a direct result of COVID-19, to mitigate the spread of the virus, and the need to protect the safety of PennDOT's customers and employees," according to a Monday release.
Some centers reopened a year ago.
"In May 2020, PennDOT began reopening of headquarter-based driver license centers, temporarily extending days of operation to 5 days weekly at all reopened locations while travel centers remained closed," according to the release.
Starting Tuesday, June 1, the Warren Driver License Center at 984 Hatch Run Road will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday and the Photo License Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Customers may continue to complete various transactions and access multiple resources online at www.dmv.pa.gov. Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include driver's license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals; driver-history services; changes of address; driver license and vehicle registration restoration letters; ability to pay driver license or vehicle insurance restoration fee; and driver license and photo ID duplicates. There are no additional fees for using online services.
