Glade Twp. man charged in Tuesday night stabbing

A Glade Twp. man faces a slate of charges – including aggravated assault – in connection with a stabbing that occurred Tuesday evening at his Cobham Park Rd. residence.

Nicholas K. Bennett, 35, was charged by Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police through District Judge Todd Woodin’s office.

Troopers arrived at the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m. and observed “a large pool of blood” near the front steps as well as a “knife on the floor of the porch.” The victim, a 36-year-old male who was ultimately flown to UPMC Hamot for care, was being treated by EMTs, per the affidavit of probable cause.

The victim was interviewed at UPMC Hamot and told troopers he had gotten into a “brief scuffle” with Bennett. Troopers report that “the victim was then stabbed by Bennett four times to his back and slashes once on his back.”

Police allege that Bennett fled the scene after the stabbing but he was apprehended sometime before midnight. Online court records indicate he was arraigned by Woodin at 1 a.m.
