‘An Amazing Job’

Area teachers get COVID vaccine at WGH

Teachers are in Phase 1B of the state’s vaccination plan.

But, in Warren County, they were approved for vaccination before the rules changed about a week ago.

Warren County School District’s educators, and others, received vaccines last week at Warren General Hospital.

“We had about 65 percent of our employees elect to receive the vaccine at this time,” Superintendent Amy Stewart said. “Those employees electing to receive the vaccine were scheduled for vaccines at Warren General Hospital on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as part of the 1B COVID-19 Vaccination Plan.”

“I have never been involved in something like this, and I was amazed to see the amount of work that goes into making this happen,” Stewart said. “I also learned how much more complicated this is compared to a mass flu vaccination.”

“Warren General did an amazing job,” she said. “We are extremely appreciative of their efforts to get the plan moving in our county.”
