New county COVID-19 cases tally is at 267

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 26 new COVID-19 cases in Warren County over the weekend and another 10 on Monday, bringing the county’s total to 267.

Of those, 239 are confirmed and 28 probable, according to the department.

Areas with new cases in the county since Friday according to Department of Health zip code data include: Warren (18), Sugar Grove (5), Bear Lake (3), Pittsfield (3), Tidioute (2), Sheffield (1), Spring Creek (1), and Youngsville (1).

There were 20 new cases in Corry, 22 in Titusville, and one in the Spartansburg zip code.

November was easily the month with the greatest increase in cases locally.

From the 71 cases at the end of October, the number of cases grew by 250 percent in 30 days. There were 44 county cases at the end of September and 27 new cases in October – an increase of about 65 percent.

As of Monday, the county’s rate of cases was up to 676.0 per 100,000. State-wide, that rate is over 2,800, with the department reporting a total of 335,911 confirmed cases and 25,553 probable cases.

Only Warren and Cameron (578.8 per 100,000) counties have fewer than 1,000 cases per 100,000 population.

There have been more than 5,000 COVID-19 tests conducted in the county, with 4,995 of those turning up negative results.
