Christmas 2020 is unlike any we’ve seen before.

With COVID-19 case counts spiking in our area, many of our Christmas traditions — everything from the annual Christmas parade, Christmas parties and potentially family gatherings — are going to be impacted.

That will leave some tough voids to fill.

But, as has been the case throughout the pandemic, these unique times are bringing about some new solutions.

A Facebook page started this week provides a pandemic-safe option for people to get into the Christmas spirit.

Enter “Warren County, PA Christmas Lights.”

It’s a Facebook group aimed at allowing people to be able to share photos — and addresses — of houses that are decorated throughout the county.

“I saw Erie had a group for their area about the best light displays,” Reyd Martin, who started the page, said. “I figured people in Warren County might enjoy a page like that too!”

The group was started earlier this week and by Friday already had 465 members.

“Sometimes you don’t realize there are so many amazing light displays in our local communities,” Martin said.

The goal is to have a map of locations throughout the county by next weekend.

“It’s a great activity to make some cocoa and go for a ride with members of your household,” she said. “Our favorite is always the house on Central.”

Addresses are starting to pop up as well as photos from various municipalities including North Warren, Warren, Pleasant Township and Starbrick.

“Hopefully we can get many people sharing over the next few days,” she said. The page “encourages people to choose safe activities right now” as well as showcase local Christmas decorating talent.
