30 new COVID cases reported

There were 30 more cases of COVID-19 in Warren County on Wednesday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced 29 new cases, and modified Tuesday’s increase to 37 from the initially reported 36.

Statewide, there were almost 7,400 new cases.

The county has now had a total of 333 cases and 5,096 negative tests.

Almost one third of the new cases is listed as probable. The department reported 292 confirmed cases (up from 272) and 41 probables (up from 31).

The county’s rate was 843.1 per 100,000 population on Wednesday.

The department considers reported cases to be recovered after 30 days of the positive test or symptom onset if the patient survives. As of Nov. 2, the department had reported a total of 74 cases in the county. All of those cases – minus one reported death in July – would be considered recovered. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that patients who have symptoms or positive tests stay home and isolate for 10 days. “You can be around others after: 10 days since symptoms first appeared, and 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, and other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving.”

According to CDC, “Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation.”

Patients with severe symptoms may require more than 10 days of isolation.

On Nov. 22, there had been 163 total cases in the county.
