Veterans Day. The 11th day of the 11th month.
It is a day set aside to honor and thank those who served.
At the 11th hour Wednesday, Warren County celebrated Veterans Day with a ceremony at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Warren.
“We spend today remembering the men and women who served … through the centuries,” Keynote Speaker Rep. Kathy Rapp said. “Their legacy of serving the country and all that we hold dear will always be with us.”
The honors due are not exclusive to those who served on the front lines in battle.

“We must also thank of those involved in so many other aspects of service,” Rapp said. “All of these assignments and careers carry risks. When they come home, we cannot expect to understand what they’ve been through.”
“It is incumbent on all of us that they have the support that they need,” she said. “They need to know that we are there for them… and we are.”
“Veterans Day gives us, the living, the chance to bow our heads to honor our fallen heroes,” Warren American Legion Post #135 Adjutant Pat Ross said as he spoke about the placing of the wreaths.
Master of Ceremonies for the event was James Brys of the U.S. Marine Corps League Pendleton Detachment.
