Charges filed in Monday stabbing in Pittsfield Township

A Corry man faces a charge of aggravated assault stemming from a Monday stabbing in Pittsfield Township.

Charles R. Earls III, 22, 25 1/2 Franklin St., Corry, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police in the wake of the incident that occurred at 175 Dey Ln. on Oct. 12 shortly after 8 a.m.

The victim told police that he was contacted by a woman who had broken up with Earls the day previously.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim repeatedly told Earls to leave and eventually pushed him “to get him to leave.”

The victim then, according to police, saw a curved knife in Earls’ hand.

Police allege that Earls then “lunged forward” and stabbed the victim in the wrist, grazed his chest “and then stabbed him in the abdomen.”

Online court records indicate that Earls is being held in the Warren County Jail on $100,000 bond. The victim, police say, was airlifted to a hospital in Erie for further treatment.

See Wednesday’s Times Observer for a full story on the incident.
