The Warren County DUI Task Force has some new equipment and a new message.
The task force acquired a trailer from another task force that will transport all the equipment needed to set up checkpoints.
That trailer has been refurbished with decal wraps and bears messages about driving under the influence — of alcohol and drugs.
The message “DUI doesn’t just mean booze,” is featured all over the trailer.
“We want this message to get out,” Task Force Coordinator Todd Mineweaser of Youngsville Borough Police said.
Drivers can be charged with DUI no matter what substance – alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription medications — is impairing their ability to drive.
The task force is comprised of officer from every local police force in Warren County and conducts roving patrols and checkpoints.
