Tidioute seniors enjoy virtual commencement

Photo submitted to Times Observer A Tidioute Community Charter School graduation motorcade, led by the Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department and organized by the Class of 2020, processes through town on Saturday.

Tidioute Community Charter School celebrated a virtual commencement on Friday … and the seniors celebrated again on Saturday.

There were speeches and photos.

Scholarships were awarded. The usual stuff.

“We graduated 25 seniors,” said Dr. Doug Allen, Tidioute Community Charter School CEO. “Seventeen from Warren County, two from Titusville and six from Forest County.”

It was all social-distancing appropriate.

“Our Virtual Graduation is found on our TCCS website — TCCS.com,” Allen said. “The board graduation is very well done virtually and we had over 400 viewers Friday night.”

But, the Class of 2020 had something more in mind.

“The seniors planned their own drive through with the Borough of Tidioute and the Fire Department,” Allen said.

There were about 20 cars in the motorcade with a Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department engine leading the way.

Celebrating seniors were greeted throughout their mile long procession by cheering residents.
