System tests, not real fires, result in reports of fire at 911 center

It was a test. It was only a test.

Warren County users of the PulsePoint app that shows emergency notifications for a variety of situations in and around the county may have noticed some activity at an unusual place Wednesday afternoon.

The notices about a structure fire, a vehicle fire, and any other emergencies at the Warren County 911 Center, are the result of testing.

Public Safety Director Ken McCorrison said the county is conducting testing of a new communications platform.

The testing is tied to the new system.

But, there is no way to shut down PulsePoint notifications, McCorrison said.

Alerts for structure fires at 100 Dillon Drive, Suite 203, Youngsville, went out at 3:18 and 3:23 p.m.

Then, there was a reported vehicle fire at the same address at 3:26.

None of those alerts reflect real emergencies, McCorrison said. They are all tests.
