Attempted homicide suspect waives court appearance

A Warren County woman charged with attempted homicide waived a hearing on Thursday.

Samantha J. Daelhousen, 32, of Orchard Lane, Tidioute, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

Daelhousen allegedly shot a man with whom she had a “lengthy prior relationship” at least three times in a domestic dispute on Thursday, April 23, at her residence.

According to testimony by Pennsylvania State Police at a preliminary hearing on May 6, the alleged victim went to Daelhousen’s house to pick up their child and that there was no doubt he was intoxicated.

The incident lasted some time – almost four early-morning hours, according to witnesses.

Police said, “There was card playing, alcohol consumption, a verbal altercation, and a physical altercation.”

During a recording of a 911 call from the incident, a voice identified on the call as Daelhousen’s says she shot the alleged victim.

The alleged victim was reportedly not in the residence when he was shot, according to a witness. He was taken to Titusville Area Hospital and UPMC Hamot for treatment.

Thursday’s hearing was a formal arraignment. At that court event, defendants are formally advised of the charges they are facing and their plea is placed on the record.

A waiver of that hearing has the same effect as the entrance of a not-guilty plea being entered.

Daelhousen is in Warren County jail. Bail is set at $250,000. Further court action is scheduled for August.
