More drug charges for Union City woman

A Union City woman who was arrested on drug charges Tuesday faces new charges for allegedly trying to get drugs into Warren County Jail.

Kendra J. Byler, 24, of Union City, is charged with two counts of contraband – possession of a controlled substance by inmate; and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Byler was searched before being committed in the jail. During the search, officers found a small, square baggie containing what was suspected of being crystal methamphetamine in her bra and a small baggie “tied in a knot” in a body cavity.

Byler was initially arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; possession of a small amount of marijuana; and 10 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; after Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle in which she was a passenger.

She was taken to the jail after failing to post $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29.
