Sex charges added to Mead case

A Tennessee man charged in December for smoking marijuana with — and tattooing — a minor now faces charges that he had sex with that minor.

The new charges were filed by City of Warren police on Thursday morning against Nathan E. Mead, 35, 124 Sanders Dr., Brush Creek, Tenn.

The initial charges against Mead unfolded back in December 2019 when police were alerted to “inappropriate contact” involving a 15-year-old female, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The minor reported that Mead completed three separate tattoos “in discrete areas of the body,” per the affidavit. Police indicate that the tattoos are located on the wrist, upper torso and “left thigh/groin area.”

She further reported that she smoked marijuana with Mead and a third individual but during that initial interview she denied there has been additional contact with Mead or the other individual.

Fast forward to Feb. 29 when police report that they learned the victim “had come forward and revealed” that she and Mead “did have sexual intercourse… during the time they spent together.”

The victim said the incident occurred on Dec. 1 when they “were lying on the bed together watching a movie.”

Mead is alleged to have “put his hands down the victim’s pants and touched her private area” before eventually taking her shorts and underwear off and having sex with her.

The victim reported that she “told (Mead) to stop and the defendant did not stop as he continuously told the victim he was sorry.”

Online court records indicate that Mead has been charged with statutory sexual assault and other sexual offenses, four counts of corruption of minors, and three counts of tattooing a minor.

He remains behind bars in the Warren County Jail on $75,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 8 at 9 a.m.
