District providing meals for students during closure

Warren Area Elementary Center will be a grab-and-go pickup station — among 10 in the county —for meals for students during the school closures.

The Warren County School District will be providing meals for students during the closure of schools.

“Any child in the district ages 18 or younger is eligible to receive meals,” said Warren County School District Superintendent of Schools Amy Stewart. “We will have breakfast and lunch to distribute Tuesday, March 17, through Friday, March 20, and Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27.”

The grab-and-go pick up stations — 10 around the county — will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those dates. The following locations will be open for picking up meals: Warren Area Elementary Center; Youngsville Middle/High School; Sheffield Middle/High School; First Lutheran Church (109 W. Third Avenue, Warren); Wilderness Trailer Park; Mason’s Mobile Home Park; Allegheny Village; Clarendon Methodist Church; Holly Apartments; and, Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Follow signs and directions at each location to the distribution area.

Each location will utilize a “drive-through” system to pick up the grab-and-go meals.

“Families will need to have the students/children with them, allowing us to keep an accurate count of what students/children were served,” said Stewart.

“We understand this is a difficult time for parents and students,” she said. “If you have questions, please let us know at 723-6900.”
