Sheffield man arrested in connection with missing Texas juvenile

A Sheffield man was arrested Friday morning in connection with a missing juvenile case out of Texas.

Eric Tuazon, 29, is being held in Venango County Jail, awaiting extradition, according to a statement from the Pennsylvania State Police.

Franklin-based Pennsylvania State Police initiated a traffic stop on US 62 Friday morning. As a result of that stop, Tuazon was arrested on a felony warrant for unlawful restraint (person) less than 17 years of age from the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Frisco, Texas.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the 16-year-old female victim in this case has been missing since Jan. 15.

It was reported she may have traveled to Houston, Texas, or Benton, Arkansas, but she was found in Pennsylvania on Thursday.

The Times Observer has elected not to publish the name of the juvenile.

Tuazon currently faces unrelated charges in Warren County court, including simple assault and conspiracy (false report – falsely incriminate another). He pled not guilty to those offenses last November and that case is awaiting trial.
