Starbrick VFD makes short work of Weiler Rd truck fire

Times Observer Photo by Katie Miktuk A vehicle fire at 1839 Weiler Rd., Warren, was reported around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15. An oil drum in the bed of the truck was reported empty upon investigation and the flames were knocked down within 20 minutes of firefighter arrival.

A report of a vehicle fire brought Starbrick Volunteer Fire Department to Weiler Rd. Wednesday evening.

Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, a vehicle fire at 1839 Weiler Rd., Warren, was reported by the owner. The vehicle was located away from any nearby structures.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire “fully involved” with the vehicle and reported an oil drum in the bed of the truck. Upon investigation, the drum was found to be empty.

It took approximately 20 minutes to knock down the flames and firefighters were on scene for around an hour altogether.

No cause for the fire is known yet.

Assisting on scene was Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department Engine 612.
