USACE issues river level warnings

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Wednesday that boaters and anglers should exercise caution during the next few days due to potential substantial rises in river levels downstream from Kinzua Dam. Significant increases in outflow were planned to take place on Wednesday. Gate openings were spaced over several hours in order to not cause sudden rises in river levels. According to the Kinzua Dam Facebook page, 4,610 cubic feet per second were being discharged at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. That amount was scheduled to increase to 8,000 cubic feet per second by 3 p.m.
