At 4:09 p.m., Monday, December 2, first responders were called to 130 Huckabone Road, Sheffield, for a possible structure fire.

While on scene, firefighters used a chainsaw to cut a hole into the roof and tore multiple pieces of siding off to ensure any flames were completely out. Debris was removed from the structure as well as some furniture found inside.

The structure is unoccupied, however, utilities were turned on at the time of the fire. It is assumed a passerby called for help.

The fire totaled the structure, it is considered a "complete loss."

As of press time Monday, no cause of the fire had been determined, but the fire marshal was enroute for investigation.

Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department was assisted on scene by Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, EmergyCare and Marienville Fire Company.

First responders spent approximately three hours at the scene.
