Candlelight Service

A Candlelight Service will be held at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Berea Lutheran Church, at the junction of route 6 and 958.

Luncheon

Village Missions Country Partners, Warren Christian Women, will hold its “Holiday Blessings” luncheon on Tuesday, December 10, Noon to 2 p.m. at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren. Featured guest will be Josie Gerardi, Youngsville, with Nativity Around the World, spiritual speaker Rev. Doug Pennhollow, Jamestown, NY, and musical guest is Pamela Holmes, Russell. Come early to hear the Youth Connection sing and perform at 11:00 a.m. Warren Christian Women is non-denominational and there are no dues. For reservations call Lee Jones at (814) 723-5952 by December 5. Men, women, and new guests welcome. Please bring a pair of socks for our veterans if you forgot in November. The ACC menu for Dec. 10 is lemon pepper chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, and fruit. A $9 donation covers lunch and program speaker.

Elk Township holiday event

Although the chorus practices in Jamestown, half of its members hail from Warren County. Members carpool every week to rehearsals and performances throughout Chautauqua and Warren County. Elk Township Historical Society will usher in the Holiday Season with their annual Christmas Community Event. The festivities will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, December 7, at the Community Center (former Scandia School). Each family is asked to provide a generous tureen. Meat, table service and beverages will be provided.

The new minister of Scandia Covenant Church, Aaron Reinhard, his wife Marjorie and sons; Corbon, Tobiah and Elias will be welcomed into the Scandia community.

Following dinner, we will move to the library for some fun entertainment. Ryan and Carly Fitzsimmons will act out “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” An auction will be held with money to benefit ETHS. If desired, please bring a wrapped new or gently used Christmas item. Krista Fitzsimmons will serve as auctioneer. And Krista and friends will lead us in singing some best loved carols throughout the auction. All are welcome!
