Anthony pleads not guilty

A Warren man facing a litany of sexual offense charges has entered a procedural not guilty plea.

Thomas G. Anthony, 51, entered the plea before Judge Gregory Hammond on Thursday during arraignment proceedings.

In the span of a week in September, Anthony was charged with two slates of sex offenses.

He was charged by City of Warren police with charges of rape forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse forcible compulsion, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent of other and other charges.

Four days earlier he was charged with statutory sexual assault, rape forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and other charges.

Those were the charges to which he entered a not guilty plea on Thursday.

Police alleged in one of the affidavits of probable cause that an interview was conducted on Sept. 15 with a known female regarding sexual abuse allegations.

The victim told police that Anthony “had sex with the victim from the age of 13 to 18 years old, would touch the victim’s genitalia and make her undress and be naked in front of him.”

In a third case filed previously, Anthony faces charges of conspiracy (rape threat of forcible compulsion), criminal solicitation (rape threat of forcible compulsion), criminal solicitation (sexual assault), criminal solicitation (aggravated indecent assault – threat of forcible compulsion), criminal solicitation (incest), criminal solicitation (indecent assault threat forcible compulsion), two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of simple assault.

According to the affidavit, the two alleged victims were forced by Anthony to have sexual intercourse. Police said the two victims are related to each other by blood.

The alleged victim told police Anthony struck both of them after forcing them to have intercourse, causing injury to the face and mouth as well as a loss of consciousness to one.

Anthony remains behind bars at the Warren County Jail.
