Jamestown man leads police on pursuit via Route. 957

Larry L. Hicks, 39, of Jamestown, NY, allegedly took officers on a vehicle pursuit through NY and Pa. on Tuesday, September 17.

At 3:41 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a gray BMW in the area of Arnold Street and Maple Street, Jamestown, NY. While doing so, the suspect allegedly sped the car away from officers and led them on a vehicle pursuit.

The alleged pursuit took the suspect and officers through the city of Jamestown, NY, the town of Ellicott, NY and the town of Carroll, NY.

The suspect continued to fail to comply with officers and led them into Pa. Officers continued to pursue the suspect through Akeley, Pa. and eventually in to Sugar Grove, Pa.

Prior to entering Sugar Grove, stop sticks were deployed, causing the suspect’s vehicle’s tires on the passenger side to deflate.

Officers then continued to pursue the vehicle back into NY into the town of Busti, NY, according to the Jamestown Police Department press release.

The suspect’s vehicle eventually came to a stop on Big Tree Road between Mead Road and Cowing Road in NY.

The driver, and suspect, Hicks, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, NY.

Hicks was charged with unlawful fleeing police in a motor vehicle 3rd, obstructing governmental administration, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. Additionally, Hicks was charged with a NYS parole violation.

Hicks is being held pending arraignment.
