The City of Warren has a brand new basketball court.

The eastern end of the old runway — the Betts Park parking lot — was resurfaced in the spring by I.A. Construction, according to Public Works Director Mike Holtz. “When this re-surfacing was done, the existing basketball courts also received a new surface as well.”

After that, the aging equipment was replaced.

“New basketball hoops were also purchased and installed about six weeks ago, and the painting is now completed also,” Holtz said.

The final step was painting.

Courts and More Recreational Surfaces Owner Russell Reinagel, of Buffalo, painted the court over the weekend.

On Wednesday, the surface had a fresh coat of black on it.

The first and second coats of blue were applied between then and Friday.

On Sunday, Reinagel put the white court lines down.
