Sugar Grove

Burglary. Pennsylvania State Police at the Warren barracks are seeking information about a theft of nearly $1,000 worth of various items that took place on July 3 from a business in Sugar Grove Township. Police report someone broke into O’Brien Transmission Service, 4800 Matthews Run Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3. Damage to a front exterior door and a cash drawer that was pried open is estimated at $265.00. The list of stolen items includes: a Stihl Pro-Series 20-inch bar chainsaw, a gas can containing fuel, a saw sharpening tool set, an orange carrying case for a chainsaw and approximately $250 cash and change taken from the cash drawer and a desk. The investigation is ongoing pending forensic analysis and review of video surveillance, according to the police report. Chautauqua Co.

DUI. On June 29 at 2:14 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Chautauqua Stedman Road in the Town of Chautauqua. Upon arrival, Deputies identified the operator as Benjamin L. Eckstrom, 25, Sugar Grove. Deputies allege that he was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. Deputies said he was processed and released with a traffic ticket and will appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date on charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .18 or greater and moved from lane unsafely.
