Limestone Twp. blight

A Limestone Township property was deemed blighted for a second time.

The declaration came from the Warren County Planning Commission during a Tuesday evening meeting.

The property is at 58 Bush Lane – located off of Rt. 62 between Irvine and Tidioute.

County assessment data lists Lynda Bush-Berenbrok as the owner of the property. Her address is listed in care of Kenneth Bush, 531 San Francisco St., Oakland, Md.

County Planner Dan Glotz said the property is “off the beaten path a little bit” and is located on “a private lane on paper.”

He said attempts to contact the property owner by both the county and the township have not been successful.

The property was before the county’s Blighted Property Review Committee in January where it was revealed that the structure is abandoned with the exception of rodents that have been seen entering through holes in the structure.

The utilities have been disconnected or destroyed and the property was deemed a public nuisance by township officials last June.

Glotz said on Tuesday that the taxes are current “but we’re getting no respond from the owners.”

He explained that certified mail cards were returned unsigned but noted that regular mail copies of correspondence to the owners were not returned to the county as undelivered.

The commission unanimously agreed to the second declaration of blight and the property will now go before the Redevelopment Authority.
