Stokes found guilty of drug charges in court Tuesday
A Warren man was found guilty of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine during a jury trial held on Tuesday at the Warren County Courthouse.
Randy D. Stokes, 4797 Jackson Run Road, was found guilty of charges including possession with intent to deliver, four counts of criminal use of a communications facility and a count of possession of controlled substance, according to a statement from the Warren County District Attorney’s office.
The jury returned not guilty verdicts on charges of criminal use of a communication facility and possession f drug paraphernalia.
Judge Gregory Hammond, who presided over the trial, found Stokes not guilty of a summary count of operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.
The criminal information indicates that the incident occurred on Oct. 20, 2017 when Stokes “did deliver 2.04 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover Warren County Drug Task Force detective at the Pool Street playground” in the City of Warren.
He was found to have “use(d) a cellular telephone by way of phone calls and text messages to set up the sale of methamphetamine” on Oct. 17, Oct. 18, Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.
First Assistant District Attorney Cody Brown prosecuted the case for the Commonwealth while Stokes was represented by Chief Public Defender John Parroccini.
