Four plead guilty, charges withdrawn against 1 at preliminary hearings

Four guilty pleas were entered and charges were withdrawn against one during preliminary hearings held on Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse.

The following defendants pleaded guilty:

¯ Robert T. Sanders, Sugar Grove, to possession of drug paraphernalia. A count of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn.

¯ James R. Wightman, Warren, to false identification to law enforcement officers. Charges of false report – falsely incriminate another and fail to use safety belt – driver and front seat occupant were withdrawn.

¯ Douglas P. Wooten, Pittsfield, to statement under penalty. A count of materially false written statement – purchase, delivery, transfer of firearm was withdrawn.

¯ Thomas N. Zaffino, Warren, to defiant trespass. A count of theft of services – acquisition of services was withdrawn.

Charges were withdrawn against the following:

¯ Theodore L. Russell, Russell. Russell had been charged with disseminating/publishing of false/misleading advertisement and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. A count of disorderly conduct obscene language/gesture was re-categorized as a non-traffic offense.
