A Grand Valley man facing multiple drug-related charges after troopers found evidence in his home has been accused of taking more than $11,000 worth of equipment from the Eldred Township building after he left evidence at the scene.

Archie L Rosenburgh IV, 27, was charged by state police at the Warren Barracks with a third-degree felony count of criminal mischief, a third-degree felony count of theft by unlawful taking and a second-degree misdemeanor count of institutional vandalism for an incident on Oct. 31.

Sometime between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 16 grinder pumps, 36 street sign posts, 12 guide rail posts, seven vehicle batteries, seven pieces of battery cables, one set of tire chains and one 12-foot corrugated culvert pipe were taken from the Eldred Township building, according to a state police criminal complaint.

The estimated value of all of the items taken is $11,584.

During an investigation at the township building, troopers discovered a plastic vehicle part from the rear lift gate of a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport driver side that included a part number, the complaint states.

Troopers familiar with Rosenburgh knew he lived nearby and drove that exact vehicle.

When troopers met with Rosenburgh at his home at 1450 Fiddlersgreen Road on Nov. 1, he initially denied being involved in a theft. When troopers showed him where the missing part to his vehicle belonged, they found six large vehicle batteries inside the Mitsubishi, according to the complaint.

At that point, Rosenburgh admitted to stealing the batteries and the 12-foot pipe, which was also found on his property. The batteries were joined together at a weight of more than 300 pounds, according to the complaint.

Troopers told Rosenburgh there was no way he could have removed the items without help but he refused to name an accomplice. Witnesses who saw Rosenburgh’s vehicle at the township building told state police they also saw a white Ford F-150 at the scene, according to the complaint.

Rosenburgh also faces a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of possession of a small amount of marijuana and 10 misdemeanor counts of possession and/or use of drug paraphernalia for an incident on Oct. 12.

While serving a search warrant at his home for the search and seizure of a cell phone on Oct. 12, troopers discovered a marijuana plant in a bucket on the front porch and three more in the bathroom, according to the complaint.

Troopers also found two pistols, more marijuana, methamphetamines, glass pipes, plastic baggies, scales and other paraphernalia, the complaint states.

Rosenburgh faces a preliminary hearing on all charges connected to both incidents.
