WCDA taking bids for PNC building project
The Warren County Development Association has gone out for bids on the PNC Bank Building project.
The notice for bids was published in the April 27 edition of the Times Observer.
The WCDA has undertaken the $2.5 million project that will renovate the PNC building, originally built to be the home of the Warren National Bank in 1900 — located on the corner of Liberty St. and Second Ave. — in downtown Warren.
According to the bid notice, bids will be received until 3 p.m. on May 22 “for the interior alterations at 300 Second Avenue, Warren, PA. Work under this contract, entitled ‘2017 Warren Downtown Revitalization’ involves separate contracts for the renovation of buildings including General Construction, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical….”
The notice further indicates that the bids are specifically for “interior improvements to the third, fourth and fifth floors.”
“Tenant fit-outs” are also proposed for the first and second floor.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the site at 9 a.m. May 4.
“It is recommended that interested bidders attend this meeting for a further understanding of the project scope.”
At a renovation cost of approximately $500,000 per floor, Decker previously told the Times Observer that the “building requires significant upgrades which are intended to be completed in the initial phase of the project including modernization of the elevator control systems, installation of a code-compliant emergency exit stairwell within the structure and upgrading of the building electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.”
In addition to PNC Wealth Management, which will remain the building, the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College headquarters and a co-working space are currently planned to occupy portions of the building.
