WCSD students earn medals at Skills USA

Dozens of county students earned medals at Skills USA this month.

According to Warren County Career Center Principal Jim Evers, the students participated in the Skills USA district competition in New Castle, Pa., on Jan. 7.

“We’re very proud of all of the students who competed in Skills,” said Evers. “Our students always go to these competitions and do great.”

Gold Medalists at this year’s district competition are: Brandon Gourley, Automotive Computer Estimating; Justin Hagberg – Automotive Refinishing Technology; Caleb Eyler – Collision Repair Technology; Desirae McMillen – Crime Scene Investigation (Team 1); Makala Bowman – Crime Scene Investigation (Team 1); Katie Haight – Crime Scene Investigation (Team 1); Trenton Wills – Criminal Justice; Precision Machining – Austin Sampson; Bailey Brucker – Quiz Bowl (Team 2); Brianna Hesslink – Quiz Bowl (Team 2); Emma Bailey – Quiz Bowl (Team 2); Riley Horner (Team 2); Gavin Horner (Team 2).

Silver medalists are: Hunter Trawick – Automated Manufacturing; Dillan Burt – Automated Manufacturing; Nick Lindsey – Automated Manufacturing; Jon Fankhouser – Medical Math.

Bronze medalists are: Sydnie Wilkinson – Basic Health Care; Emily Koebley – Medical Terminology.

The 13 gold medalists as well as the following students will be going to the Skills USA state competition in Hershey, Pa., on April 19 to 21: Ian Morse – Motorcycle Repair; David Tremblay – Small Engine Repair; Jeb Johnson – Marine; Ashley Kuzminski – Welding Sculpture; Devon Moore – PIN Design.
