Corry woman charged after crash in Pittsfield

A Corry woman faces aggravated assault charges after a September crash in Pittsfield Township.

Trinity L. Lindstrom-Kotouch, 42, is charged with aggravated assault; aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI; DUI: general impairment — first; DUI: high rate of alcohol — first; failure to keep right; disregard traffic lane; prohibited text-based communication; careless driving; and failure to use safety belt — driver and occupant.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Lindstrom-Kotouch was driving west on Route 6 when her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, went back across the westbound lane, and struck the guide rail head-on.

Police said the vehicle then rolled onto its roof and slid about 50 feet before rolling again onto its passenger side and sliding another 150 feet.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lindstrom-Kotouch was taken to Corry Memorial Hospital for treatment “before PSP arrived on scene.” A passenger in the SUV was still trapped in the vehicle when police arrived.

“Lindstrom-Kotouch… admitted to drinking prior to the crash,” police said in the affidavit.

In the explanation of the aggravated assault charge in the criminal complaint, police said Lindstrom-Kotouch “did recklessly cause serious bodily injury” to the passenger “under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life.”
