Death on Route 666 ruled suicide
The death of a man found in a car at a pull-off area on Route 666 last week has been ruled a suicide.
The man’s body was discovered in a vehicle approximately one mile from the intersection with Route 948 in Sheffield Township. State police from Warren and Erie counties, a state police forensic services team, Warren County Coroner Jerry Borden, and officials from the Warren County District Attorney’s office, including District Attorney Rob Greene, were at the scene for several hours Wednesday.
An autopsy was conducted on Thursday in Erie County. Borden confirmed to the Times Observer on Sunday that the man had died from a gunshot wound to the head and that it was self-inflicted.
The Times Observer is choosing not to release the identity of the man.
