The investigation into the threat that caused the closure of Allegheny National Forest offices last month has been completed.

According to a release from the ANF, the supervisor’s office in North Warren, and the Bradford and Marienville ranger district offices were closed on Tuesday, Feb. 21, as a precaution due to a threatening voice message.

All offices reopened the next day.

After an investigation, Forest Service Law Enforcement determined that the call originated from the Phoenix, Ariz., area. “Further investigation determined the caller was a juvenile with a history of mental illness,” according to a U.S. Forest Service release. “No criminal charges are to be filed.”

Forest Service Law Enforcement and Investigations was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Conewango Township Police, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Starting at $3.50/week.
