Youngsville man apprehended for felony burglary

Jamie Crick

A Youngsville man charged with felony burglary has been apprehended by police.

Jamie Delbert Crick, 41, of Youngsville, was caught at a residence near Youngsville Elementary Middle School on Thursday afternoon, according to Youngsville Chief of Police Todd Mineweaser.

“This is a guy we’ve dealt with before,” Mineweaser said. “He’s a subject who is well-known to us.”

Crick’s capture was an uneventful one, according to Mineweaser.

“He was located in the upstairs of the residence,” Mineweaser said. “He gave up and was apprehended.”

Mineweaser also informed the Times Observer that Crick will be charged in multiple burglaries.

The initial charge that Crick has been arrested for stems from an incident in late December in which police say Crick burglarized a home on Rt. 957 in Sugar Grove Township.

According to police, victims reported missing various items throughout the residence. These items included several pieces of jewelry, a canister containing money, and two prescription bottles of pills.

Police said the victims noted that someone had forced entry into the residence through a rear-basement window, breaking the window sill and locking mechanism.

The same victims contacted police to report additional missing items. These items included several more pieces of jewelry, and 32 bicentennial quarters.

The victims also informed police that they had contacted pawn shops, and were told their jewelry had been sold to a pawn shop in Falconer, N.Y.

Crick was identified as the one who sold the jewelry to the pawn shop.

A pawn shop worker had documented the items, date, time, and photo ID associated with the transaction, and informed police that Crick had been paid $360 for the items.
