Youngsville man sentenced to close to 3 years in child porn case

A Youngsville man was sentenced in federal court on Friday on a charge of sexual exploitation of children.

Tyler M. Engle, 24, of 29160 Route 6, Youngsville, was sentenced to 35 months in prison.

Engle entered a guilty plea before U.S. District Court Judge David Cercone in January.

According to officials, the case involves events of January 2014.

Engle was charged in Warren County court with numerous child pornography counts.

Those counts were all dropped by the Commonwealth when the case was turned over to the federal government.

According to a Friday release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Pennsylvania, “Engle possessed computer images depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.”

In the affidavit of probable cause for the original case in county court, police wrote that cameras containing 57 images were turned in to police and analyzed.

According to police, Engle agreed to be interviewed and “admitted that the cameras with the images of female minors were his.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian Trabold prosecuted the case.

U.S. Attorney David Hickton commended Pennsylvania State Police “for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Engle.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
