Warren County food inspections from August 29 to October 2

The following establishments were inspected by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services between August 28 and October 2:

Catering Plus, LLC, 10 Dennigan Ln., Sugar Grove, no violations.

Family Dollar, 15905 Rt. 62, Tidioute, four violations observed chemicals (bleach and cleaners) for retail sale displayed on shelving above food items, severely dented, swollen, distressed canned items observed and intended for sale in the food facility.

Also, there were some cans with an unidentified residue on outside of can, there is some residue on the bottom of one of the freezers. There is some food residue on the floor under the ramen noodles, mops are not being hung to air dry.

Jackson Valley Golf Club, 6927 Jackson Run Rd., Warren, two violations cheese and cut tomatoes held at 50?F, in the prep unit, rather than 41?F or below as required, food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.

PSCFT, 90 Main St., Tidioute, one violation food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.

Tidioute Community Charter School, 241 Main St., Tidioute, two violations two gallon containers of milk were in the fridge with a 9-20 use by date, product was disposed, mops are not being hung to air dry.

Chapman Dam Beach Facility, 4790 Chapman Dam Rd., Clarendon, no violations.

Family Dollar, 70 Railroad St., Youngsville, two violations food is stored in a discount box mixed in among lighters and nail polish remover, needs to be separated, mops are not being hung to air dry.

Garland Volunteer Fire Department, Main St., PO Box 101, Garland, one violation food facility is using an approved non-public water system, but does not have current laboratory testing results for water potability.

Route 62 Diner, 8490 Market St., Russell, one violation wasps on the outside of the building, entering some cracks around the air conditioner. One wasp was observed in the restaurant.

Surrena’s Pizza, 546 Main Ave., Warren, four violations food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired (03-22-15) and is no longer valid,

An open employee’s beverage container was observed in food preparation area, upright freezer has heavy frost buildup, and starting to impact food, needs defrosted. The condenser unit within the walk-in cooler has heavy dust buildup on both the front and back of unit, clean as needed, mops are not being hung to air dry.

Vic’s BBQ Catering, 1840 Page Hollow Rd., Pittsfield, no violations.

Frosty Jack’s Cart, 922 Newton Rd., Pittsfield, one violation plastic spoons and ice cream cones displayed in such a manner that items were not protected from customer contamination. Corrected.
