Warren woman flown from scene for injuries sustained in motorcycle accident
A Warren woman was flown from the scene to UPMC Hamot as a result of injuries sustained in a Saturday motorcycle accident on US 6 outside of Youngsville.
According to Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police, Rose M. Gourley, 38, Warren, was traveling south on Mead Run Rd. while driving a 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportster and failed to stop at the stop sign of Mead Run’s intersection with US 6.
When Gourley entered the intersection, her motorcycle was struck by a 2013 Ford Edge, driven by Harry W. Mascaro, 77, Pittsfield. Mascaro then lost control of his vehicle and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Grover P. McMillen, Jr., 38, Sugar Grove.
Police said Gourley “was thrown from the motorcycle onto the shoulder of SR 6.” While police did not identify the extent of her injuries, they did say that Gourley was “air lifted by Stat Medivac to UPMC Hamot in Erie.” Mascaro was injured as well and was transported to Warren General Hospital. McMillen was not injured in the crash.
Both Gourley’s motorcycle and Mascaro’s vehicle sustained disabling damage in the accident and were towed from the scene.
Youngsville and Sugar Grove volunteer fire departments and EmergyCare assisted on scene with EMS response. James Towing and Recovery of Youngsville assisted with towing. State police said Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control.
