LIBRARY-ANGEL PROGRAM ENDS

DEC. 23

Friday marks the final end of the Youngsville Public Library’s 14th annual “Library-Angel” fundraiser for 2022.

A corresponding “Library-Angel” is placed on the Library-Angel tree for each donation made and specifies if the donation was in honor of or in memory of an individual. Library Angels are also mentioned on the library’s website and listed in the Times Observer.

To become a Youngsville Library Angel: download and mail-in a printable Library Angel form from the library’s homepage at youngsvillelibrary.org and click on the Library Angel Tree link; mail a donation (without a form) to Youngsville Public Library, 100 Broad St., Youngsville, PA 16371. Include the name to be placed on the angel (and if it is in memoriam or in honor of someone). Or, visit the library during business hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and complete a form at the Circulation Desk. Forms can also be downloaded from the library website and, after completed, placed in the library’s secure drop-box. All donations received via the library drop-box and by mail will receive a phone call confirmation that the donation was received.

Thank you to our most recent Library Angels, who made a donation from Dec. 10 through Dec. 15 toward the following annual library operational needs:

¯ Toward Newspaper Costs: In Honor of all our library volunteers from Melissa Procter;

¯ Toward building insurance costs: Ardelle Johnson;

¯ Toward Utilities: In memory of Ron Morse from Kitty Morse;

¯ Toward energy-saving light bulbs: In memory of Mary Ann Bauer from an anonymous donor;

¯ Books from the library wish list: In memory of Joann Paulson from Rose and John McCanna; in memory of Sherryn Martin from anonymous donor;

¯ Toward phone bills: Rose and John McCanna;

¯ Toward Book cover, book tape, etc. costs: In memory of Kay Johnson from anonymous donor;

¯ General donation: Ardelle Johnson; and

¯ Toward custodial supplies: In memory of Carly Hannah from anonymous donor.

Safe Place Donations: On behalf of “A Safe Place,” the Youngsville Library staff thanks all the community members who donated items for “A Safe Place” during the winter drive. The Youngsville Library was more than willing to be a drop-off site for the charity drive that was orchestrated by the Witchable organization.

Holiday Hours: The Youngsville Public Library will have regular business hours during the week of Dec. 19-23. The Youngsville Library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, but will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Hours are posted at YoungsvilleLibrary.org.

Kids Craft-Day Program: Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. there will be a special, free “Crafts & Stories” program at the Youngsville Public Library specifically for children between the ages of 4 and 12. Crafting supplies are limited to 25 participants, so pre-registration is being requested as supplies are limited and an adult is required to attend. Since one of the crafting stations will require more intricate painting skills, the youngest age for program participants will be age 4. To register a child for one of the 25 spaces, call the Youngsville Public Library during business hours and speak directly with a staff member at 814-563-7670 on Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free program. To reserve a space, parnets will be asked the name and age of the child as well as a contact phone number.
