FUNDRAISERS TO BE HELD IN

On the final day of St. Luke’s Fall Rummage Sale, 420 N. Main St., Youngsville, today from 9 a.m. to noon, bags of items cost $1 while pre-sale tickets will be available for the church’s take-out, Polish dinner fundraiser. The Polish dinner fundraiser will be on Oct. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. The cost is $15 a ticket. Dinner is take-out only. Each dinner includes: two cabbage rolls, three perogies, a scoop of Klushi casserole and a slice of nut roll. There are 300 pre-sale tickets available. Tickets are available for purchase at: the Youngsville Public Library from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; by calling Mary at 814-563-4010, or at the St Luke Church office in Youngsville or the St. Joseph Church office in Warren.

Bingo: Monday 3 is Bingo at the Garland Fire Hall. The fire hall has a revamped kitchen menu. The kitchen is open from 4 to 6 p.m. Those eating don’t have to play bingo. Doors to the fire hall open at 4 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6 p.m. Kitchen menu items include: bacon cheeseburger, chili dogs, garbage fries or cheesy fries.

Turkey Party And Gun Giveaway: The Garland Volunteer Fire Department will host a turkey part and gun giveaway Saturday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Garland Fire Hall (31 Bailey Lane, Garland). Proceeds will directly benefit the Garland VFD. Doors open at 6 p.m. The main giveaways start at 7 p.m. Admission is free. The event includes turkeys, ham, cash and gun giveaways. Instant tickets. Those attending must be over the age of 18. Alcohol is BYOB. The fire hall kitchen will be open.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

YMCA Free Day: Today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. is the Youngsville YMCA’s Community Free Day. Anyone age 12 or older is welcome to stop by for a tour or to use the YMCA’s equipment. The Youngsville YMCA is located at 80 Ford St., Youngsville. The general public and all non-members are welcome to use the Youngsville YMCA the first Saturday of each month, during regular business hours. An autumn open house will also be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with snacks, tours and giveaways. For more information, call 814-802-1618.

Free Hunter Trapper Class: A free hunter/trapper education class wll be held at the Spring Creek Sportsmen Club, 611 Turner Road, Corry. Those attending must attend both days of class to pass and must be age 11 or older to attend. The two class dates are Thursday, Ocr. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Details are available at www.pgc.state.pa.us.

Warren YMCA half-marathon challenge: Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the Warren County YMCA Superkwik Half-marathon challenge. Race begins at 9 a.m. at the Kinzua Beach, Allegheny Reservoir, Route 59, Warren. Early registration ends today.
