St. Luke Rummage Sale:

A fall rummage sale will be held at St. Luke church (420 N. Main St., Youngsville) sponsored by the Altar/Rosary Society on Thursday, Sept. 29, and Friday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 1. A $1 bag sale will be held Oct. 1.

Polish Dinner:

Youngsville’s St. Luke church is having a Polish dinner fundraiser from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 9. Take-out only. Dinners include: two cabbage rolls, three perogies, scoop of Kluski casserole and slice of nut roll. Cost is $15 and requires a pre-sale ticket. Tickets are available for purchase at: the Youngsville Public Library from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; by calling Mary at 814-563-4010, or at the St Luke Church office in Youngsville or the St. Joseph Church office in Warren.

Night at the Races:

The Youngsville Fire Hall will be the site of a Night at the Races from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The fundraiser benefits the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool. Those attending must be 21 years of age to wager on videotaped horse racing. There will be door prizes, payouts for the top three finishers in each race. pull tabs and 50-50 giveaways. There will be light snacks provided.

Garland Fire Hall:

Upcoming fundraising events benefiting the Garland Volunteer Fire Department, all located at the Garland Fire Hall, have been scheduled. They include Bingo on Monday, Oct. 3, with doors opening at 4 p.m. and bingo starting at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 4 p.m. The department’s turkey party will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, with details to be announced soon. Gun bingo will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, with details yet to be finalized.

Ukraine Relief Benefit:

Friday, Sept. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. the Bent Run Brewing Company will host a Ukraine Relief Initiative Fund Benefit with live music by Temple Grey and a pass-the-hat benefit. All proceeds will be donated to URI by local volunteers on the ground in Krakow and Ukraine. The trip in mid-October will be the group’ sfinal one until early May 2023. Winter is coming and organizers want to deliver large quantities of shelf-stable food, medical supplies and wheelchairs.

HAUNTED TOURS

The Warren County Historical Society presents “Haunted House & Trolley Tours” on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Take a spooky horse-drawn trolley ride featuring tales of Warren’s unluckiest early citizens. Trolley tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advanced purchase recommended. Tickets may be purchased at 210 Fourth Ave., Warren, or online at warrenhistory.org. Old-fashioned

Christmas:

Saturday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. will be the Youngsville Old Fashioned Christmas in partnership with Youngsville Heart and Soul. A parade will be held at 4 p.m. To be in the parade, Carrie Hendrickson 814-730-5581. Vendors can call Sara Robinson at 814-730-4272.

OctoberFit

Open-House:

Autumn open house events at all three Warren County YMCA sites. tours, snacks and giveaways for each one will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on three nights in October. The Youngsville YMCA’s open house is Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 80 Ford St., Youngsville (814-802-1618). The Warren YMCA open house is Thursday, Oct. 6, and the Sheffield YMCA (407 S. Main St., Sheffield) is Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Spooktacular Night Out:

An adults-only costume party at the Jefferson Defrees Family Center will be held Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be giveaways and dancing. Proceeds benefit the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Warren County.

Bingocize:

BINGOcize is back at the Allegheny Community Center (42 Clark St., Warren) Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 p.m. through Nov. 10. To sign up or get more information call 814-723-4180.

Senior Lunches:

Senior lunches are served every Monday through Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Allegheny Community Center (42 Clark St., Warren). Cost is $3 per lunch for folks over 60. Eat-in, take out or sit at one of the picnic tables. Call the ACC to schedule a lunch at 814-723-4180.
