GARLAND VFD FUNDRAISERS

At the Garland VFD monthly meeting it was decided that due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, the concerns for safety of the community and volunteers that Garland VFD will refrain from having social activities and fundraisers through the month of September. They will be evaluating the situation going into October and the VFD will post their activities on a weekly basis via Facebook. Volunteers appreciate the support they have received this year and are looking forward to continuing activities as soon as possible. Firefighters will be at the fire station as normal keeping ourselves prepared.

Tentatively there are two fundraising raffles scheduled for Oct. 10. The Penny Raffle was originally planned for April but was postponed until this fall, so those with tickets from April will still be in the raffle. The original drawing date was scheduled for April 4. Donation/cost of ticket is based on number on ticket x one cent and numbers on tickets range from one to 500. For example, if the ticket number is 337 the owner would donate/pay $3.37. The Fall Gun Safe Raffle will also be on Saturday, Oct. 10. The prize is a Liberty Centurion 24 gun safe. Raffle chances are $2 donation per ticket or three tickets for a $5 donation. See any fire department member for tickets for either raffle or stop by the Garland Fire Hall on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. or Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon.
