Public library updates

Staff from Youngsville Public Library and all other public libraries in Pennsylvania are anxious to be allowed to reopen more services to patrons (other than the increased e-services currently offered). However, at this time, the library has not received guidance from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries in Harrisburg as to when the library closure order will be lifted. As soon as staff is told what library operations will look like and what safety rules and regulations the library will have to follow, Youngsville Public Library will inform the public via the newspaper and on its website.

In the meantime, there are many e-services that are easily accessible via the website at YoungsvilleLibrary.org. Also, additional e-books and e-audios are being added to the Seneca District Overdrive system for easy access.

Information regarding the library’s extended return policy, easy ways to access free e-resources such as e-books and audio books (even if you don’t currently have a county library card), “one-stop” resources for students and parents to utilize, and more can be found at YoungsvilleLibrary.org (references/general references tab).

YFree Methodist updates

The Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis Street) is helping the Warren Salvation Army to restock its food shelves by accepting food donations at the church, which will then be delivered to The Salvation Army.

Bring your non-perishable food donations to YFMChurch Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enter through the gym door, on the Marsh Avenue side of the church and put your donations by the “Salvation Army” sign.

Non-perishable items needed include cereal, soups, canned vegetables, canned fruit, boxed/packaged potatoes, rice, tuna, and jelly. For information, email Michele Peters at office@ybfree.org.
