Youngsville Life

Photo submitted to Times Observer Stories, and music, and trains – oh my! Miss Casey’s Head Start students visited the Youngsville Public Library last Wednesday for stories, music, and activities. Students also had time to explore the library and play with the library’s train table and other interactive toys. Youngsville Library also offers an open to the public story time the first Wednesday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. No registration is required. All ages are welcome. Call 563-7670 with questions or visit YoungsvilleLibrary.org.

Free 3-day guest pass at Y-Branch

Visit the YMCA Youngsville Branch (80 Ford Street, next to Island Park) and receive a 3-day free guest pass. What a great way to learn about all the classes that are offered at the Youngsville Y branch. Now all Youngsville Branch fitness classes will be on a five-week schedule (except for spin-only classes) and you don’t have to be a Y member to take a class. 2020 Winter five-week sessions are Jan. 6 to Feb. 8 (but some spaces are still available) and Feb. 10 to March 14 (member registration begins Jan 29, open registration begins Feb 3).

It is also possible to “drop-in” for a class, but calling ahead is recommended to make sure there’s room as class size may be limited due to equipment needs (814-802-1618).

Classes offered for the 2020 Winter sessions include: Baby & Me Stretch and Flex, Suspension Training, S-I-T (Sweat w/Intentions for Transformation), Spin & Tone, Pound Fitness, Reading & Riding (targeting youth participation, ages 12-17), and more. Detailed class descriptions and dates, cost options, links, and more are offered on Youngsville Library’s webpage at YoungsvilleLibrary.org (community information tab/Youngsville YMCA page) or call the Youngsville Branch at (814) 802-1618 during business hours.
