Youngsville Life

Mum’s the Word

The Second Annual Youngsville Public Library’s 8-inch potted mums fundraiser is going on now through September 28. YPLibrary is working with Nick and Mary Jo Brunecz from J & B Country Gardens Greenhouse located at 652 Turnpike Cemetery Road, Sugar Grove.

To participate in the fundraiser: Purchase a special Youngsville Library mum coupon at YPLibrary for $8 each. Present the pre-paid YPL mum coupon at J & B Country Gardens Greenhouse any Saturday in September (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and you then choose your 8-inch mum from the varieties and colors available. Youngsville Library will receive a $4 donation for each $8 mum coupon that you purchase.

“This is the second year for this mum fundraiser and we’re really excited to be working with Nick again this year,” stated Library Director Kristy Wallace. “This year, we will have a selection of mums available for purchase for $8 each right at the Library during our Annual Book/Bake Sale Fundraiser next Friday and Saturday, September 6th and 7th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Of course, you can also buy the special library mum coupons during our book and bake sale, too – if you’d prefer to go to the greenhouse and choose a mum there instead. They’ve grown 3,300 mums this year and offer 15 varieties and an assortment of colors. This really is a great fundraiser for our library.

“Nick used to own the Agway in Youngsville and he and Mary Jo are really so community-minded and supportive of area organizations.” Wallace said. “It is my understanding that this latest greenhouse business is actually named in honor of Nick’s parents, Jack and Barbara Brunecz. We will always have one of the gorgeous 8-inch potted mums on display and the library so people can see how healthy and large the mums are when they come in to purchase a special library mum coupon.”

The Library mum coupons can also be purchased from staff, board, and Library Friends members.
