Stories & crafts program

A free crafting & stories time at the Youngsville Public Library for kids ages 3-10 years every Wednesday in July from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

This is a wonderful time for kids to enjoy themed-stories, crafts, songs, a snack, and more.

“Day-of” walk-ins are always welcome but registration is highly recommended to “reserve” crafting material availability for your child. A registration form can be downloaded at YoungsvilleLibrary.org (home page). Completed registration forms can be mailed, placed in our drop box (open 24-7), or turned in at the circulation desk. Your child is not obligated to participate in each day of the program. This year’s Themes: Wednesday, July 3rd – Rubber Band Cars; July 10th- Slime; July 17th – Puppets; July 24th – Teeth; and July 31st – Wildlife. Music at Island Park

Youngsville’s Music in the Park (at Island Park) is free, family-friendly community event that takes place on Thursday evenings now through August 29.

On Thursday, June 20, enjoy music from the 50’s & 60’s by “American Pie” from 6 to 8 p.m.

On Thursday, June 27, the band “Something for Nothing” will play classical rock.

Vacation Bible School

Online registration is now open for kids attending the Youngsville Free Methodist Church’s Vacation Bible School: The “Mane” Event- Roar, Life is wild, God is good. The YFMC bible school will be Sunday, July 21, to Thursday, July 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for kids ages 4-12 years old.

A free, kid friendly-family meal will be served at 5 p.m. for those attending.

This Bible school program promises a week full of amazing experiments, creative games, super-fun snacks, surprising adventures, and incredible music. To learn more and have direct access to the registration link for volunteers and kids go to YoungsvilleLibrary.org (community news tab), July news.

YHS Alumni Luncheon

On Tuesday, July 9, at noon, the YHS Alumni and guests will hold their annual YHS Luncheon at the Youngsville Fire Hall. The YHS Class of 1967 are this year’s hosts with the YHS class of 1968 as the honored guests. This is a fun, casual, family-style reunion/get together for all YHS alumni and guests who graduated at least 50 years ago. Bring a dish to share. Beverages, sandwich fixings, plates, and silverware are provided. Help with set up on July 9 is needed and appreciated. If you’re interested in helping or want more information, call 814-563-4389.

Eagles Band-Booster

Car Show

On Sunday, July 21, the Youngsville Eagles Instrumental-Band Boosters will be holding its 3rd Annual “All Vehicle” Car Show Fundraiser at the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Hall. Registration is 9 a.m. to noon, the show starts at noon, and awards are at 3 p.m. All vehicles are welcome. The entry fee is a $10 donation per vehicle.

The PowerWheel Class for Kids is free.

There will be music, food, awards, and fun. All vendors are welcome. Come and support the Eagles marching band as they will be marching in the 100th Veterans Day Parade in New York City in November. Irving-Newbold

Estate Tour

On Thursday, June 27, there will be an Irvine-Newbold Estate Tour from 6 to 8 p.m. Meet at the Wilder Museum (51 Erie Avenue, Irvine). The cost is $5 donation per person and appropriate footwear is required. Contact Wilder Museum at (814) 563-7773 Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 to 5:00 p.m. with questions.

Free Rouse Concert Series

The Suites at the Rouse will start its free Outdoor Concert Series on Tuesday, June 25 (date change), with the band “Take 5” playing from 6 to 8 p.m. Take 5 features classic and contemporary rock. All concerts are free to the public and all ages are welcome. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The concert is at the Suites at Rouse, 615 Rouse Ave.
