Become a Library Angel
Become a Library Angel and help the Youngsville Library. From now through Wednesday, December 23rd the Youngsville Public Library has a special tree on display near the Circulation Desk. The Library Angel Tree is filled with a variety of ornaments listing basic items (& their costs) that are vital to the survival of the library, everything from light bulbs to DVDs to copy paper and even general donations (just to name a few). Community members are encouraged to take an ornament from the tree and make a donation at the circulation desk. You will receive a Library Angel ornament to place back on the tree for each Angel-donation that is made. You also have the option to make a donation to honor someone or in memoriam.
“This annual fundraising event was started by the Library Friends in 2009 in response to the wave of cuts in State and county support,” stated Library Director Kristy Wallace “and the Angel Tree has become yet another way for our library to try to counteract a portion of the over $11,000 loss in income that we have been experiencing on a yearly basis since 2009. We are truly so grateful for every one of our ‘Angels’ who support us every year and patronize our wonderful library.”

Library thanks
tree “Angels”
“There continues to be a great out-pouring of support for our Library Angel Tree this year,” said Library Director Kristy Wallace. “What makes this type of fundraiser a bit more unique is that the donor has a variety of options when deciding what ornament they want to sponsor. Both the denominations and items listed on each ornament vary, so a person can choose how much they wish to donate and what they would like to see the donation go toward. Ornament items list everything from general donations to office supplies, stamps, and light bulbs.”
“Another trend for this year is the number of people who are sponsoring an Angel on behalf of someone else as either an In Honor Of or In Memoriam Donation,” Wallace said. “For those who do choose to donate on someone else’s behalf, we offer both acknowledgment and thank you cards to mark the occasion. But really the bottom line is that we are very appreciative of all of our Library angels and we can’t thank them enough for helping to keep this wonderful library open.”
Now through Wednesday, Dec. 23, the Angel Tree fundraiser will remain on display and ornaments are still available for sponsorship. To become a Library Angel just stop by the Youngsville Library during business hours or you can mail a general Library Angel Donation to: Youngsville Public Library c/o Library Angel Program, 100 Broad St., Youngsville, PA 16371.
